Uto-Aztecan comparative linguistics and etymological databases

Abstract: The paper presents a general survey of Uto-Aztecan historical studies. It discusses the genetic classification of the family, phonological reconstructions of individual daughter languages and of Proto-Uto-Aztecan itself. Lexical material used in the paper is taken from electronic databases created for the “Evolution of Human Languages” Project (Santa Fe Institute).
